I've been working out like crazy for months now, and Monday night I finally felt inspired to try running a full 5K (3.1 miles). I didn't enter a race or anything but decided to just try it out on the treadmill. Running has never been something that really interests me; I can do it, I just get bored pretty easily and quit to do something more exciting. This time I was determined. I found some killer dance music on my iPod and away I went. Before I knew it I looked down and it was over! I even ran an extra 3/10 of a mile without realizing it!
Maybe when it warms up a bit here I'll be brave enough to enter a race, and update this post :)
