92. Go to the Cherry Blossom Festival in D.C.
About 15 years ago (YIKES! I'm getting old) I was in the National Cherry Blossom Parade in Washington, D.C.. Ever since I've moved to DE, I've wanted to go back when the blossoms are in full bloom, so J.R. and I got in the car yesterday morning and headed down to see what all the fuss was about.
Although we had a really great time spending the day in the city, we found that the crowds were a little much, and the attractions were mediocre :-/ The Japanese Street Festival which boasted of martial arts displays, anime, sake tastings, bonsai and caligraphy demonstrations, was little more than a flea market.
After realizing in the first hour that there wasn't much to see, we ventured out around the city to see some sights. We visited the White House, and walked around some of the Federal buildings. We found are really nice little Peruvian restaurant where we had dinner YUM!
So even though the festival was a bust, it was a beautiful day and we had a great time!
